Aventus Care is an alternative to residential care, providing support and care to individuals with complex needs within their own homes. Supported living is an alternative to residential care, providing support and care to individuals with complex needs within their own homes. The service users will normally be tenants in rented accommodation either through local council housing, shared ownership, housing associations or private landlords.

They will live in their own homes and be supported by a team of professionals around the clock providing bespoke care tailored to their individual needs.
Supported living care is normally accessed by a GP referral to the Clinical Commissioning Group who are responsible for the planning and commissioning of health care services for their local area. The process can take 3-6 months.

Learning Disabilities

Aventus Care provides personal care support to people aged 18-55 years old that have learning disabilities. Learning disabilities can impact people in different ways but often make it difficult for people do everyday activities.

They may need support with household tasks like cooking, doing the weekly shop or managing money. If the learning disability is severe then the individual may need full time support and care with every aspect of their day to day lives.

Autism

Autism is sometimes referred to as a spectrum, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how people perceive the world and interact with others.

Autism is not a learning disability, but around half of people with autism may also have a learning disability, which will affect the level of support they need in their life.

Some people with Autism may need very little support while others may need more specialised 24/7 support. Aventus Care provides a stable, safe structure with consistency and routine to care for individuals with Autism in their own homes.

Complex Needs

If an individual has been diagnosed with an illness, disability or sensory impairment and needs a lot of additional support on a daily basis, they're described as having "complex needs". This could include poor mobility, incontinence or even behavioural challenges such as physical aggression.

A person might have complex needs from birth, or after an illness or injury. At Aventus Care we work closely with families and service users to develop a care and support package to meet the specific needs of each individual.

Health & Social

At Aventus Care we pride ourselves on ensuring our service users social needs are given as much priority as their health needs. We want to help our service users live a full and happy life as part of a community.

They have a weekly programme of social activities including taking them shopping, going to the cinema or bowling, attending social clubs and spending time with family and friends.
